Flashback
Introduction
Our product is a 2 minute film of the start of a superhero film. Our sequence looks like other films with a flash back at the start with some films starting in that way showing what happened in the start on how the superhero became the superhero they are now. Like in ‘Batman’ it goes back to when he is a kid and is playing in the garden then has contacts with bats. Also ours is the same to like ‘Spiderman’ where is had a damsel in distress, where at time a girl who is connected to ‘Spiderman’ is in trouble and he has to help her, just like ours a girl who the superhero is related to is in trouble. It’s also the same with a villain having a evil laugh which is in seen in ‘Predator’ and then we have the villain have a evil laugh. My product challenges conventions, like the costume Michael isn’t dressed up in a suit or a cape or colourful clothing like superman for example who wears a mask he’s is just wearing normal cloths you don’t usually see that for other superhero films.  Our film is could be seen as near professional with the editing and the camera shots we have good use of wide range of shots and good titles like professional films. Also I think that the music is done very well and is all in time just the professional films.

Damsel in distress

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My product represents children and males and females. When Michael is younger he drank from the table not knowing what was in the drink this is representing his as naive for drinking what he does not know what it is. Also males are shown as the more dominate figure as when Michael is older he is the one chasing the villain to save his sister who is tied up. This is shown in the chase and he must get to her quickly running though the forest representing himself as strong and determined to find and help her. Another one may be that women are helpless and vulnerable as Sarah is tied up with her mouth tied and she’s screaming and is then not shown much in the film when she is shown she only takes up a small amount of time, when males are talking up the most space and time this is showing they are the more dominant and important. This could be true as most males in superhero films are dominate and females are weak and are always in trouble just like Sarah and it’s up to the male to save her.  This may be a positive representation of males.

Sarah (vulnearable)

Distribution
The product may be disturbed by small independent companies such as 'Nowhere Fast productions'. This is because this company only does budgeted films such as a film called ‘Colin’ which was made with a budget of £45 and was a biggish film, because our film was made with a very small budget then this the company expected to disturbed the film. Big companies such as 20 century fox will not disturbed the film because they are a big company that deals in massive blockbusters and films with well-known names in the films. This always makes the film big as it has the backing of a big company and then well known names but therefore because our film does not has a big names or part of a franchise we will not get the backing of the such big company. The product should be distributed in cinemas like the lighthouse in Wolverhampton where they only show small films like ours then slowly advance it to other cinemas in the UK then maybe to bigger ones in the city centers. You can also sell it to schools where it can be played to target audience. It should also be disturbed on internet so people can download and pay for it, this may lead to problems as people may get illegally and then we will lose profit. So it will disturbed in Britain in small cinemas then onto larger ones then finally onto the internet.
Building adds tension

What have I learnt about technologies?
I have learnt that when using the camera it is important to get the shots right as the battery is not very long. When filming I have leant that its useful using the rule of 3rds and the 180 degree rule. As when following this it will help with keeping everyone in the shots like not cutting off people’s heads, so it’s taught be how to film correctly and how to make sure it’s all in proportion. I have leant when working in front of the camera you must act normal and not smile while going though shots or laugh as it may come though as wrong when editing as you have smiled when you are not supposed to. So I have learnt to keep a straight face and try to act normal. Also not to look into the camera when not needed. I have leant that when using the Mac and iMovie it’s harder than it looks. It is very hard if the software keeps on crashing and you have to re do the work if you don’t save. However I have learnt once you have added a title for example it’s very hard to remove the title. I have leant that it’s very good with importing clips and editing it all together. My skills in production have improved because I now know where to put titles and good use of shots and sound within the product. The technologies that could be improved is the camera shots, because sometimes when filming we would cut people’s heads and include unwanted items, so I need to improve on appropriate titles and camera shots.

Audience
The target audience would be for those that are teenagers. The main people who go to the cinema are teenagers with group of friends and families if it’s an action packed film then it will attract a lot of teenagers and people in school as they go to the cinema and like action. We had feedback from other groups saying it was action packed and eye catching, so if teenagers like the film then it will be targeted at teenagers as its action packed with plenty of action. It is also targeted at the people who like superhero films and are interested in fiction films or just or just interested in marvel films.
Marvel may attract audiences

How did we attract audiences?
We tried to attract audiences by mise-en-scene within our film which may be appealing could be the location of the film as it is set in a house then it goes to forest that no one is sure where it is and the forest then to the building adds tension and its appealing as its better than a location like on a street. The acting within in the product may have attracted audiences by Dr Pepper laughing for example and the girl screaming. This may make the film interesting and people may tell other about the performance of the product which will then attract more audiences. Also the scene may attract audiences by showing tense atmosphere and giving the idea the girl is not safe as there is not much safe nearby at al. Also the soundtrack is fast paced and extremely successful in creating the right, tense atmosphere.
May attract audiences because its appealing
